An absolute tardis of a bookshop, perfect for hours of browsing on a rainy day. The staff were incredibly helpful and helped me dig out a book I’ve been trying to track down for months.
I have purchased great books at John Sandoe since the 1970’s . The shoppe is an international treasure . I live in Chicago, USA and always visit the store when I travel to London. The Team there is always helpful . In between visits the wonderful website helps me keep my library at home growing. Creative holiday and every day books as well as special autographed editions.
It’s is not only cute-looking and cozy but an extremely well-resourced bookshop. Their personal customer service is unique and it builds up relationships, encouraging to read more.
Such a lovely bookstore! I’ve started my London book store tour to promote independent bookstores to wide community (especially ethnic minority group) so everybody could know where to get a good paper print in your neighbourhood in this digital world. This bookstore is very cozy and chilled. I love the seat nearby the window and friendly staff!
One of the nicest bookshops in London. Amazing selection of books, helpful staff. I was looking for a book and it wasn’t available so they ordered the book for me and I got it the next day!
Nice little shop. 3 floors with all sorts of subjects both fiction and nonfiction. Didn't end up buying anything but was good to browse and enjoy the ambience.
Take your time with a visit to the shop. Don't rush, it's the type of shop where you'll learn so much from just browsing. Stocked with a wide range of fiction and non fiction titles. It can feel at times that the books are almost on top of you.
Could do better in sign posting the different sections but happens this is part of it's charm. Encouraging the visitor to 'explore'. Staff were warm and friendly, definitely worth a visit.
A brilliant purveyor of books. I had been searching for some time for books written by Algy Cluff - "Get On With It" and "Off The Cluff", to no avail in the major book retailers, but found it online on John Sandoe.
I ordered the books and the team emailed to inform they did not have any in stock but would order them. Two days later they had dispatched the said books to Singapore.
Excellent service and a pleasure to deal with!
